Draw from patterned textiles to create abstract colourful drawings led by artist Lauren Godfrey

In this workshop, we will draw from patterned textiles - clothing, soft furnishings, fabrics etc.

Participants will be invited to bring printed textiles special to them, we will assemble them into a ‘mega pattern overload’ arrangement and will draw from them as an exercise in observation, abstraction and colour application. Through the drawing we will create instinctive, playful and colourful drawings to take home, capturing the fabrics special to you and bringing them together into a unique 'portrait'.

This is a hugely enjoyable workshop with space for mindfulness, talking, and reflection. Usually suited to last around 1.5 to 2 hours but can be longer if needed.

This workshop is really well suited to groups of people as the conversation flows like you're on a walk or sat side by side in the car - opening up and allowing creativity to flow, could be a great way to hash out those big decisions you've been trying to make!

There is a range of levels of engagement so it is very adaptable and suits almost any environment and age group.

  • "It really opened up my drawing skills, I felt relaxed and at ease to be able to draw freely!"
    - Alex
  • "Lauren has extensive experience delivering workshops to people of all ages in all environments and is very good at helping you loosen up and allow the drawing to flow!"
    - Helen
